Longewala is a border town in the Thar Desert in the western part of Jaisalmer district, in the state of Rajasthan, India.


Program

Breif Description Of The Program : Y.H.A.I. RAJASTHAN STATE BRANCH takes proud of promoting adventurous activities in our youth like trekking camping , Now we are adding one more feather in our program Sam sand dunes are 30-60 meter tall genuine sand dunes located on the city outskirts, at a distance of 40 km from Jaisalmer in a village named ‘Sam’. Tourists frequent this place to enjoy jeep safari, camel ride, paramotoring, star gazing, bonfire, and cultural programs like Rajasthani folk dance and music.
Tanot Mata is a temple in western State of Rajasthan in District Jaisalmer of India. Goddess Aavad, the daughter of Mamadia Charan (Gadhvi), is worshiped as Tanot Mata.As per the oldest Charan literature Tanot Mata is an incarnation of divine goddess Hinglaj Mata. The village is close to the border with Pakistan, and is very close to the battle site of Longewala of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Contemporary folklore credits the temple for the outcome of the battle.[1][2] Tourists cannot go beyond this temple to see the Indo–Pak Border unless one gets the relevant documentation in advance from the District and Military Authorities. It is now a tourist destination in India. The area is said to have oil and gas reserves.

Day wise Schedule:
Day 1 : Report at base camp border home guard ground jaisalmer. acclimatization, orientation, note :- report at base camp before 2:00 pm.
Day 2 : Cycling from Base Camp to SAM SAND DUNES Camp ( 40KM) Via Amar Sagar Jain Temple, Empty heritage Village Kuldhara , Sam Sand Dunes.
Day 3 : Cycling from SAM SAND DUNES Camp to Ramgarh Camp. (62KM)
Day 4 : Cycling From Ramgarh Camp to Tanot Mata Temple Camp (55KM). Via Ranau Village, Gantiyali mata mandir.
Day 5 : Cycling From Tanot Mata Mandir Camp to Ramgarh Village Camp (80KM) Via Longwala war Museum. Note :- 60 Km by cycling and 20 Km form Transportation.
Day 6 : Cycling From Ramgarh Village Camp to Base Camp Border Home Guard Ground Jaisalmer (60KM) Via Sonu Village, Mokla Village, Badabag Village, Amar Sagar Bypass.
Day 7 : Check out after breakfast.
 
Who can Participate: The minimum age for joining the expedition is 18 year. This conditon will be adhered to strictly. Under age candidates will not be considered in any case.
 
How To Reach The Base Camp : Base Camp for the program is established at The Border Home Guard Ground, Jaisalmer 2 KM from Bus stand and 4 KM from Railway Station. Jaisalmer is connected by train service with Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hawra, Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner. It is also connected by Road with delhi, ahmedabad, kutch, pune, Mumbai, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Ajmer & Udaipur. Regular Flight from :- Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Delhi & Jaipur.
 
How To Join : Members desirous of joining this programme may apply on a prescribed Registration Form Duly supported by Medical Certificate which is available from Units/State Branches and National Office.

What participants should bring along : Woolen gloves, Woolen socks, Sweatshirts, Two Jackets, T Shirts, Cotton Shirts, Cotton Pants, Sun Cap, Shoes,Socks, Pack Lunch/ Lunch Box, Water purifying tablets, Pen knife, Needle, Thread, Spare buttons, Goggles, Cold cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, Medicines which you normally use at home, Camera with extra batteries.
 
Safety & Security : Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of trekking expedition route for your safety.Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have visited the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the youth hostels association of india or its rajasthan state branch will not be responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseeable eventualities.

Cancellation Policy : In case you are unable to join the camp and wish to cancel your participation, Your application must reach the concern offices, before 28th Nov. 2024. In this case you will get 50% refund after completion of programme. If such notice received after 28th Nov. 2024. No refund will be given.
Where To Apply For Cancellation : 1. Offline applicants should send their cancellation request in writing & email with admit card copy directly to the office of YHAI, RAJASTHAN STATE BRANCH.

2. Online applicants should contact and send their request to YHAI, National Office, New Delhi only. No enquiries to Rajasthan State Branch Office. It would not be entertained strictly.
Additional Notes :
01. Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred.
02. Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.
03. Refund may be given after 30 days of completion the programs.
