On a heavy demand from the most of the educational institutions, parents and students, we are organizing the Nature Study Program at Nainital in Uttarakhand in the lap of himalayas
Nainital is famous for the Naini Lake where it is believed that Lord Shiva performed his tandava. The Naini peak or the China peak is the highest in Nainital with a height of 2611mts. Some of the other places of tourist interest are the Mall, now known as the GovindBallabh Pant Marg. You can find restaurants, offices and hotels all located in the Mall. Nainital Zoo is a very important tourist spot where you can find rare species of snow leopard, steppe eagle and the Himalayan black bear. The Governor House of the Raj Bhavan with its sprawling gardens is one of the few Raj Bhavnas open for public viewing. Nainital’s latest attraction is the Eco cave garden where your children can learn about the ecosphere. Nainital is also famous for its various school and research facilities. The Observatory or the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) is located 9km from Nainital on Manora Peak and the centre for astronomical studies and optical tracking of artificial satellites. It also proudly houses many renowned schools some from the British period. An important and famous school in Nainital Sherwood College, St Joseph’s College, and Sainik School.

Note:-These programs are exclusively for YHAI members. Membership is also available at Base Camp/Online/State Branch/Units and YHAI Trekking expeditions are not subsidized by the Government or any donors.

* Day Wise schedule:
Day 01: Reporting at Government Youth Hostel Nainital (After 12:00 PM)
Nainital is a picturesque hill station in Uttarakhand, India known for its stunning natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, here’s an overview.
Acclimatization, Orientation and Training
Once the students report at base camp they will be taken for an acclimatization trek around the base camp to Eco cave Park.
Day 02: trek to china peak (Naina Peak)
Students will trek 5 K.M. Around 3- 4 hours ascending to china peak (Naina Peak) is the highest point in nainital the trek offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, nainital valley and surrounding hills. Where they will enjoy in guidance of our professional guide it’s a popular trekking destination offering breathtaking view of the Himalayas, mountain peaks like trishul, nanda devi, chaukhamba etc and the Nainital city, beautiful lake, once all students enjoy will come back to base camp
Day 03: Trek to lands end and Tiffin top, also known as Dorothy’s Seat, is a scenic hilltop in nainital
Land’s end offers breathtaking views of Khurpa tal and Surrounding valley with the dance forest and from Tiffin top you can see Nainital Devi temple, Nainital lake snow view point and panoramic views of Himalayas, sun set view and relaxing atmosphere.
Students will be start trekking to Nainital city via jungle route trek which can take 03 hours approximately
Day 04: Students will be transported by bus from base camp to lake tour and famous Neem karoli temple
Day 05: Check out after breakfast

* Who can participate?
The program is open to students of age groups between 10-15 years. Only junior members are allowed to participate. Overage/ underage students shall not be considered in any case.
One Teacher/ Escort Accompanying a group of 10 students will be complementary in terms of participation fee on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
* How to Participate:
Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this program may apply online by paying the program fee along with a booking amount of Rs 5000/-.
We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
After a successful transaction, an Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry an “Admit Card”, “Trekking Medical Certificate” & “Membership Card”(Print of a temporary membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this program may apply on the prescribed “Trekking Registration Form”duly supported by a “Trekking Medical Certificate”, along with a DD of the requisite amount of Rs.5000/- in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi or you can deposit in our Bank Account.

All Offline Booking confirmations are subject to the availability of seats. The National Office will send the Admit to the participant at the address mentioned in the “Trekking Registration Form”.
Members can also apply through our YHAI Units or State Branches in their respective areas.
N.B: Without an admit card and Medical fitness Certificate do not claim your registration as confirmed.
* Notice to Participant for any illness or injury: YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of the mountain biking route for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all the details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.

Medicines (As per your personal requirement, which you regularly use at home and Crepe Bandage 4in*1, Microspore tape 1/2inch*1, Band-Aids, Cough lozenges/ Kanthil or other, Vicks Vaporub, Coldarin, Clortrimazole cream and powder, Paracetamol*10 Mupirocin cream, Diclofenac gel, Lopamide*10, Azithromycin and Electrol), Camera with extra batteries.
* Notice to Participants:
1. Students will have to follow the schedule strictly. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
2. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
3. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
4. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
* Certificates: Participants, who successfully complete the trekking and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates.
*Justice TPS Chawla Scholarship for underprivileged Girls: YHAI announced Justice T.P.S. Chawla Memorial Adventure Scholarship for underprivileged girls for participation in YHAI adventure activities. Girls whose family income is less than Rs.100000/- p.a. can avail this scholarship. Applicant has to submit the salary certificate of their parents. In case of Business, she has to submit their income on an affidavit. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document / certificates.
*Off the beaten Siddharth Scholarship for underprivileged Young Men & Women : YHAI announced 50% Off the Beaten Track Siddharth Scholarship of the program fee to provide underprivileged Young Men & Women less than 30 years of age with an opportunity to participate in outdoor adventure activities/ programs by YHAI in various parts of the country. Underprivileged Young Men & Women whose family income is less than Rs. 250000/- p.a can avail this scholarship by applying to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document/ certificates through their respective State Branch.
Cancellation
Cancellation Method:
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.
Cancellation Policy:
The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:
(a) Credit Shell:-
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2025.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2025.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
6) The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organized by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.
OR
(b) Refund:-
Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.
Note: If any program will be cancelled due to Natural Calamity / Government Restriction / Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
