Youth Hostels Association of India, Meghalaya State Branch is organizing a 6night/7day trekking cum Caving in Meghalaya, covering the places in Shillong and Sohra (Cherrapunji), from 5th Nov to 21st Nov 2024.
Breif Description Of The Program : Youth Hostels Association of India, Meghalaya State Branch is organizing a 6night/7day trekking cum Caving in Meghalaya, covering the places in Shillong and Sohra (Cherrapunji), from 5th Nov to 21st Nov 2024.
This is a good opportunity to see the scenic beauty as well as experience the climbing of more than thousands of steps while returning from the Living Root Bridge called the “Living Root Double Decker Bridge”alongwith the blue lagoon. The participants will visit Shnongpdeng as well.

Group 1: 5-11th November 2024
Group 2: 8-14th November 2024
Group 3: 12-18th November 2024
Group 4: 15-21stNovember 2024
Day wise Schedule:
Day 1 : Reporting at Govt. Youth Hostel Shillong from 4 PM onwards : 6 PM Orientation and training.
Day 2 : Trek from Mawphlang along David Scot trail to Lad Mawphlang and transported to Laitryngew – night halt at Laitryngew (14 kms)
Day 3 : Trek from Laitryngew to Sohra via Lyngksiar falls, Janailar falls, Prut Falls and night halt at Sohra/ Laitryngew (14 kms difficulty level moderate)
Day 4 : Transfer by bus from Sohra to Nohkalikai waterfalls then trek to Double Decker Living root bridge, Rainbow waterfalls and Blue Lagoon. Transfer by bus to Sohra/ Laitryngew for night halt. (approx. 12 kms difficulty level hard)
Day 5 : Transfer by bus from Sohra for caving (Mawsmai cave and Arwa Cave) and local sightseeing (including Wah Kaba waterfalls) Night halt at Sohra/Shillong.
Day 6 : Transfer by bus to Shnongpedeng (12km away from Dawki) to visit one of the cleanest river of India. Evening return back to Shillong Base Camp folloed by Evaluation & Certification.
Day 7 : Check out by 9 AM after breakfast.
Facts
Participation in the programme is open to all educational Institution, individuals and recognized units of YHAI. Participants have to bear all travel expenses from their place to Govt. Youth Hostel Shillong and back. The Age bar for Males is from 15 years to 65 years and for Females from 15 years to 56 years.
Cancellation Policy : In case any participants is unable to join the program, application for cancellation in writing or email to the State Secretary 10DAYS before the scheduled date booked by the individual and avail 50% of the participation fee paid. If such notice is received after the time given no refund will be admissible.
