Day-wise Schedule:
 
Day 01: Reporting and Acclimatization
· Morning: Arrive in Leh and check-in and documentation.
· Rest to acclimatize to the high altitude.
· Orientation session to brief participants about the journey, safety guidelines, and motorbike handling.
 
Day 02: Local Sightseeing Ride (Approx. 80 KM)
· Allotment of motorbikes and briefing about the day’s ride.
Destinations:
· Sangam: The confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers.
· Magnetic Hill: A place where gravity seems defied.
· Pathar Sahib Gurudwara: A spiritual site with historical significance.
· Spituk Monastery: A beautiful monastery with panoramic views.
· Hall of Fame: A museum honoring the Indian Army’s bravery.
 
Day 03: Leh to Pangong Lake via Changla Pass (Approx. 180 KM)
· Start the ride early and ascend to Changla Pass (17,688 ft).
· Hot lunch at Thangtse village.
· Visit the breathtaking Pangong Lake, known for its changing shades of blue.
· Return to Thangtse for dinner and overnight stay.
 
Day 04: Thangtse to Nubra Valley via Shyok River (Approx. 140 KM)
· Ride through scenic landscapes alongside the Shyok River.
· Arrive at Nubra Valley and visit Hunder, famous for its sand dunes and Bactrian camels.
· Explore the dunes and enjoy a peaceful evening.
· Participants can enjoy camel ride, ATV ride and other activities at hunder by paying at their own cost.
· Overnight stay at Nubra Valley at Hunder.
 
Day 05: Nubra Valley to Leh via Khardungla Pass (Approx. 130 KM)
· Visit Diskit Monastery, known for its iconic Buddha statue and stunning views of the valley.
· Ascend to Khardungla Pass (17,982 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
· Descend and return to Leh.
· Overnight stay in Leh.
 
Day 06: Departure
· Checkout after breakfast.
(The Itinerary and schedule are subject to change at any time based on local conditions, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances to ensure the safety and comfort of the participants).

* Any kind of entry fee in sight seeing is not included in the program fees.
 
FAQ’s
 
1.Will helmets, riding jacket, gloves etc. be provided?
 
A: Helmets will be provided for each participant, any other riding gear will be available on chargeable basis
 
2.How will the accommodation and room allotment be done?
 
A: Accommodation at all sites will be separate for men and women. In room stay, it will be 6 per room sharing basis and at basecamp it will be 8 per tent sharing basis.
 
3.How will we carry all luggage during biking?
 
A: Luggage will be taken along the route with the group in truck. Only a backpack with necessities is enough while riding.
 
4. What documents will be needed?
 
A: All participants must have a copy of their aadhar cards, all riders must have their original driving license with additional copies. RTPCR negative report is must Leh (96 hrs. prior). Medical certificate compulsory for all participants and passport size photographs.
 
5.What kind of roads can we expect?
 
A: Most of the roads are well maintained, but you can expect rocky terrain, muddy roads, ice covered tracks and sharp turns with deep valleys. It is overall tough and risky environment.
 
6.What items should we carry for the programme?
 
A: personal belongings, proper sport shoes, face masks, rain jacket, plates, mugs, water bottle.
 
7.What kind of weather can we expect?
 
A: Weather conditions are unpredictable in Ladakh. You can expect cold winds, rainy weather to scorching heat during day. Sunscreen necessary.
 
8.Will there be any additional expenses?
 
A: There will be refundable security deposit of INR 5000 for the bike provided.
 
9.How will the bikes be allotted?
 
A: Bikes will be allotted by random draw basis.

Criteria for Selection
 
• The participant (male/female) should be an experience biker and must have done at least 2 or 3 cross state motorbike rides alone or in group.
•This is high altitude motorbike expedition hence bikers should have excellent physical and medical fitness to ride bikes in low oxygen and high pressure areas.
•Valid Driving License in India
•Only Single rider is allowed per motorbike. Pillion riders are not allowed.
 
Note : Right of selection is reserved with Youth Hostels Association of India.
 
Participation fee
 
Rs.27000/- is the participation fee per participant.

IMPORTANT: Please read all the instructions of programme carefully before booking the same (including cancellation policy).
 
* Food & Supplies: Morning tea, breakfast, packed lunch, evening tea (in the camp), and dinner and after dinner tea/coffee/Bourn vita, shall be provided. Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source. Washing of clothes is strictly prohibited.
 
* Accommodation Facilities: Sharing Tent accommodation.. A common toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the camp.
 
* Safety & Security: YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of this program for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
 
* How to Reach:
 
By Bus:
 
Route-1: from Srinagar 434km via Sonmarg, Zozila Pass & Kargil. J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates regular bus services between Srinagar and Leh on this route with overnight halt at Kargil.
 
Route-2: from Manali 474km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla & Upsi. Himachal Pradesh Tourism, HRTC and J&K SRTC operate daily Deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali and Leh. The bus journey between Leh and Manali with an overnight halt at Keylong or Darcha.
 
By Air: Major Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar
 
By Train: The closest railway stations are Jammu, Pathankot or Chandigarh, both at least three days
 
NOTE: There is no prepaid mobile service availability at Leh- Ladakh region, only postpaid services are functional.(Airtel, BSNL,Only)

* What participants should bring along: Woolens, cotton clothes, water bottles, plates, spoons, bowls, mug, glass etc, raincoat, cold cream/Vaseline, personal first aid kit, towel, Lunchbox (for packed lunch) and medicines that you normally use at home.
 
* Notice to Participants:
 
1. Deviation from the set schedule of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
2. Staying other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
3. This is an environment-friendly camp. Do not litter any wrappers in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and dump in the dustbin at base camp.
4. Burning of wood during campfire is strictly prohibited. Carrying any Non-bio – degradable Material in JK is an offense.
5. Previous day Reporting allowed paid basis.
 
Risk Factor
 
This is a high risk adventure programme, involving stiff Motorbiking on Himalayan passes. Below mentioned are some of the important risk factors which should be taken care :
•High Altitude Sickness leading to Pulmonary Oedema
•Exhaustion due to Stressful driving
•Fall during climb or down leading to ordinary or serious injuries
•Any unforeseen circumstances
It is emphasized that this is high risk expedition and may lead to simple/serious injury or injuries/loss of limb/temporary or permanent disability/death. YHAI will provide adequate assistances in the above circumstances but cannot be held responsible for any of the risks mentioned or not mentioned above.
 
What should you bring
 
Valid Driving License for Indian National and Valid International Driving License for Foreign Nationals. Biking Gear, Gloves, jacket, Cotton Shirts, Pull overs, Jeans/trousers, Mufflers, cap, Water and Wind proof gloves, Sport/leather shoes, Sun Cap, Woolen Socks, Water bottle, Lunch box, Goggles, Cold Cream, Sunscreen lotion, Tissue packets, Commonly used medicine for Cold – Cough – Headhache – Loose motions etc, . You are requested not to carry any other sponsor’s flag or advertisement material during this expedition. Participants may bring valuables but only at their own risk. Participants are required to abide by the terms and conditions laid down by YHAI.

Cancellation
 
Cancellation Method:
 
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
 
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.
 
Cancellation Policy:
 
The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of “Cancellation Method”, is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:
 
(a) Credit Shell:-
 
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2025.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2025.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
6) The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organized by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.
 
OR
 
(b) Refund:-
 
Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.
 
Note: If any program will be cancelled due to Natural Calamity / Government Restriction / Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
