Bhandardara, is a hill station situated in Akola taluka in Ahmednagar district. It is a part of the forests of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra in ‘Kalasubai Harischandragad Wildlife Sanctuary’.


Program

Breif Description Of The Program : Bhandardara, is a hill station situated in Akola taluka in Ahmednagar district. It is a part of the forests of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra in ‘Kalasubai Harischandragad Wildlife Sanctuary’. Our campsite is on the banks of Lake Arthur ie the Pravara Dam. In the evening we will do boating in the lake, and visit the beautiful carved Amruteshwar Temple dedicated to Bhagavan Shiv. We will return to participate in the Kajwa Mahotsav.
Every year from the last week of May till the second week of June, the shiny world of fireflies descends on earth. Millions of fireflies can be spotted in the Bhandardara. The tiny bioluminescence beings sparkle and shine to emit a glow. It’s nature’s own light show that amuses one and all. These fireflies bring magic to your summer night.
The next day we will visit the fort Ratangad, guarding the source of the river Pravara. Return back to Mumbai after lunch.
 
Day wise Schedule:
11th June 2022 – Reporting & registration between 4 to 6 hrs early in the morning. Departure to Bhandardara Camp at sharp 7:00 hrs.Tea & breakfast will be provided in the vehicle. Reach the camp by 12:30 hrs. Allotment of tents. Lunch & rest till 14:30 hrs. Proceed for boating and Amruteshwar temple. Return to camp by 19:00 hrs. Dinner at 19:30 to 20:30 hrs. Proceed to take part in Kajwa Mahotsav. Back to camp by 23:00 hrs. Lights off by 23:30 hrs.
12th June 2022 – Bed tea at 5:30 hrs. Breakfast by 6:00 hrs. Proceed to the base village Ratanwadi at 6:30 hrs. Trek to Ratangad fort and back to camp by 12:30 hrs. Lunch from 13:00 to 14:00 hrs. Departure for Mumbai at 16:30 hrs. Arrive at the Maharashtra State Office by 20:00 hrs.
 
Accommodation Facilities : Tents. males & females will have separate accommodations.
Food & Water Supplies : Simple vegetarian food and hygenic water will be supplied.
 
What participants should bring along : Sack, spare clothes, cap, water bottle, Raincoat/poncho, SPORTS SHOES, personal medicines, bedsheet, towel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, titbits of food, torch, YHAI Card.
 
Additional Note : This is the monsoon programme. At times the fury of the monsoon may hinder the Boating/Kajwa sightings. Even though all the precautions are taken we will not be responsible for any mishap, accident, theft, etc.
 
Safety & Security : Expert guide will be on the tour. insurance of each participant is taken.
 
Cancellation Policy : 25% amount will be cut if we receive notice of cancellation by email, 7 days before commencement of the batch date.
