Youth Hostels Association of India, West Bengal State Branch introducing a unique adventures coastal trekking cum training program from Gangasagar to Digha along the Sea coast Bay of Bengal of West Bengal with the awareness on Plastic Pollution in Marine Life.
Gangasagr – a mythological important place where every year on the day of Makar Sankranti lakhs of pilgrims from different parts of the country gather to take a holy dip at the confluence of river Ganges & Bay of Bengal & give puja to Kapil Muni temple. Now round the year peoples came here for holy dip & puja.
A famous myth about the Gangasagar “Sare Tirtha Bar Bar Gangasagar Ekbar”.
During this coastal trekking participants will cover famous sea beaches of West Bengal – Junput, Baguran Jalpai, Mandarmoni, Tajpur, Shankarpur & queen of the beaches Digha with many others unexplored sea beaches.
Participants will enjoy the splendid panoramic views with marine flora & fauna with special attraction of red crabs. Participants also enjoy the thrills of crossing the Widest sea mouth of river Ganga by launch (about two hours journey) also experience the river crossing by fisherman boat during the trekking.
Beyond the trekking additional attraction is Dariyapur Light House, Historical Kapal Kundala Temple, Udaypur sea beach (West Bengal & Orissa Border), Chandaneswar temple & Talsari sea shore.

Day wise Schedule:
Day 1 : Reporting at base camp, Moulali Youth Centre, Kolkata after 3pm. Registration & Orientation
Day 2 : At morning transfer by train/bus to Kakdwip Jetty (2.5hrs) then by Vessel crossing the river Muriganga to Kachuberia (30mins) . Kachubria to Gangasagar by Jeep (45mins). Holy bath at Sagar (optional) & visit Kapil Muni temple. Night Stay at Gangasagar
Day 3 : At morning transfer by Jeep to Maya Gowalini Ghat jetty of Gangasagar (45mins). Then crossing the sea mouth of river Ganga by launch (about 2hrs) to Petoa Ghat, Dariyapur. After reaching visit Dariyapur Light House, Kapal Kundola Temple, proceed to Bankiput sea shore by Jeep/trekker. Then trekking start through sea shore to Junput (5kms).
Day 4 : Trekking by sea coast – Junput – Haripur Khoti – Baguran Jalpai – Saula Khal (crossing by Boat)- Mandarmoni (15kms).
Day 5 : Trekking – Mandarmoni – River Jalda (crossing by boat) – Tajpur – Shankarpur –Champa Khal (crossing by boat) – Digha (15km).
Day 6 : Local site seen at Digha – visit Udaypur sea beach (Bengal Odisha Border), Chandaneswar Temple, Talsari Sea Beach At evening Campfire and valedictory session
Day 7 : Checkout after Breakfast

Who can Participate: Any members of the Association who is physically fit can join the program.

N.B: Without Admit Card, valid Membership Card / receipt and Medical Fitness Certificate your registration cannot be claimed as confirmed.
Accommodation Facilities : Sharing Basic.
Food & Water Supplies : Only Nutritious Vegetarian Foods will be provided.
What participants should bring along : Rucksack, Cotton Shirts/ T-shirts, Pants, Tracksuit, with windcheater, Sun cap, Sunglass, Shoe / Chappal (Sandack type, washable), Water Bottle, Torch, Needle & Thread Toilet Kit, Tissue paper, Towel, Lunch Box with spoon, personal medicines, polithin Sheet (2mtrs). All materials should carry within the rucksack during the trek.
Safety & Security : Extensive and painstaking preparations have done into the planning of routes for your safety. Our Field Staffs have been visiting the area to check all in details, every care has been taken to ensure safety. Youth Hostels Association of India West Bengal State Branch Can Not Be Held Responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen casualties. If Participants desire to join and other activities they may do so at their own cost and responsibility and only after finishing the program and checking out.
Additional Notes : Smoking and Use of Alcohol and Narcotics or any description are strictly prohibited during the trekking program. Camera Charges and Entry Ticket for some places will be provided by the participants only. Carry your address proof and Photo Id.
Cancellation
Cancellation Policy : In case you are unable to join this expedition you will get a refund of 50% Rs.4750 provided your request is received CLEARLY FIFTEEN BEFORE (EXCLUDING DAY OF REPORTING) FROM THE DAY OF REPORTING. After this date no refund application will be considered. Any unforeseen event /strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund will be given after completion of the program 30 to 40 working days.
