Batheshwar Mahadev Temple, also known as Jatashankar Mahadev Temple, is a revered Hindu temple located in the Girnar mountain range near Junagadh. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its beautiful architecture & serene surroundings, which makes the place not only a spiritual retreat but also a picturesque destination. It is located in Jamwala village near Junagadh, Gujarat. It’s nestled amidst the Girnar mountain range, which is a prominent trekking site in the region.
In past YHAI Ahmedabad Unit used to arrange many treks at this place, again after many years coming back with best ever camp of Batheshwar – Jamwala. There are two rivers Shingodo and Datardi and Batheshwar camp site was located between two rivers. It is a part of Gir Sanctuary which was established in 1965, with a total area of 1,412 Km2 of which 258 km2 is fully protected as National park and 1,153 km2 as wildlife sanctuary. The Gir forests support a rich biodiversity comprising 32 species of mammals, 26 species of reptiles and thousands of insects. Around 300 species of birds are recorded both residents and migratory and great ornithologist Dr. Salim Ali said that if there were no lions here then Gir would be known as the best bird sanctuaries.
Kindly note following details: –
Date :- 11th to 13th January 2025.
Accommodation:- On sharing basis in tents available at Camp-site.
Fee :- Rs. 3500/- per person for Members. (YHAI MEMBERSHIP IS MUST FOR PARTICIPANTS)
Reporting time :- Reporting before 10 am on 11th January at Campsite. Balmukund Travel Bus is available from Ahmedabad at 10.30 PM on 10th January. Camp will disburse on 13th January 2025 after Breakfast, return journey from Jamwala to Ahmedabad by Balmukund Travels at 9.00 am. Our Volunteers will help you to book this Bus Journey tickets. Bus fare will be around Rs. 700 to Rs. 800/- for one side.
Things to bring : Walking or Trekking Shoes, Sun-Cap,1 Ltr. Water Bottle, Personal Medicines, Mosquito repellant Cream, Slippers, Spoon & Glass, Pen, Notebook, Binoculars, blanket etc. Do Not Carry Disposable Products. Please bring Woolen cloths as per requirement.
Please Note :- There will be Medium to Hard trekking, so participant who really want to enjoy trekking should join.
